2. Installation |
|
1. Drive DUCKBILL to desire depth |
|
DUCKBILL anchor are driven into the soil using a hammer and drive steel (a small
jack hammer can be used together with power drive steel). As the anchor is being
driven, it is actually compacting the soil around the anchor head. Once the
anchor is at the proper depth, the drive steel is removed. |
|
|
|
2. Set the DUCKBILL in soil |
|
To set the anchor in normal soil, wrap the wire rope around the drive steel or
insert rod through loop in wire rope and pull upward a distance approx. The
lenght of the anchor body. Or, use the DUCKBILL Anchor Hook accessory. The
upward pull on the wire rope rotates the anchor into a perpendicular load lock
position in undusturbed soil. |

where sidewalk plantings are required, use the root ball kit. It is specifically
designed to hold the tree's root ball firmly in place, with only the tree
protruding above the ground. |

Fast,Easy Instalation: |

- Drive anchors in triangular pattern in bottom of hole until only
D-rings remain exposed.
|

- Pass tension strap thru D-ring in each anchor, and back to easy hand
rachet.
Tighten and adjust tension strap for best fit.
Retighten if necessary.

Drive Steel |
|
|
|
How to select power drive steel |
|
Each DUCKBILL Anchor has unique drive steel that is determined by the jack
hammer and the anchor. Here is how to select the drive steel that is right for
the particular anchor: |
|
1. Determine the DUCKBILL Anchor you are going to install. |
|
2. Then measure the hex size (D) across the flats of a shank that fits the
hammer. |
|
3. Measure the shank lenght (L) from the top of the hex to the collar. |
4. Call FORSIGHT PRODUCTS, LLC. with special shank sizes or if you need more
information on how to determine what drive
steel is needed for the particular
application. |

Power drive steel for model 68/88 anchors is 4'(1.2m) drive tip to under collar. |

|
